From now you can:
- reset orientation, reboot it or even factory reset it remotely (see PR #88)
- set head tracker name (see PR #93)
- re-map, invert and enable/disable channels (see PR #94)
...all this remotely, via Bluetooth!
Use any available Bluetooth scanners/helpers to write values to Bluetooth characteristics. Some specialized configurators may emerge in the future. Please read linked pull request descriptions for details.
Improved calibration and drift prevention
With my new testing rig, I was able to detect problems in gyro calibration code, fix that and also improve the tune. HT must work even better now!
Please let it auto-calibrate properly after update, leave it stationary (not in your hands) for some time, one minute shall be enough, 5 minutes are more than enough.
Surprise finding about gyroscope and electromagnetic fields
We all know magnetometer is affected by electromagnetic fields, so other head tracker projects strongly recommend to calibrate magnetometer "in place", i.e. head tracker attached to goggles. Our head tracker does not use magnetometer, so there was no such recommendation. During recent tests, it becomes apparent, that electromagnetic radiation from our FPV goggles is so strong that it affects gyroscope too.
So, please, mount HT on your goggles, power it on and let it sit like this for a while. Leaving HT on your desk for calibration, then slapping it on your goggles will do no good! Let HT stabilize on googles before flying with the head tracking!
